Toxins are harmful substances found in the environment. They can range from heavy metals, such as lead and mercury, to chemicals, such as pollutants and insecticides, and everything in between.
We are regularly exposed to toxins. They can be found anywhere on Earth; from the air in the Himalayan mountains to the vegetable crops in the remote mountain villages of Mexico that have never been sprayed with pesticides.
Some people may be less exposed to toxins in certain parts of the world, but no matter where you are, even if you live all the way in the Antarctic, there will still be toxins around you.
Toxins may be everywhere, but Charles Kwang of Kwang Wellness explains that there is a lot more to toxins than simply avoiding them. For one, if toxins accumulate in your body and stay there for too long, they can cause serious health problems. “The underlying problem is that people are going to feel sicker sooner and understanding how to fix that is very important.” says Kwang.
In his video, Kwang talks about the importance of going through a “detox” or detoxification process to fix these problems and stay healthy. Watch the full video at Brighteon.com.
A detox is the natural process of eliminating and neutralizing toxins from the body. Your kidneys, intestines and liver normally do a good job of eliminating these toxins and excreting them as waste products. But did you know that following a diet of certain detox foods can greatly speed up this process?
Different people have different reactions to a detox diet, so the speed and efficiency of the detox may be highly dependent on the individual’s needs. Kwang says that if a person is being detoxified properly, they can see improvements right away. They feel better immediately and consistently. On the other hand, if it is done incorrectly, the results can fluctuate with the person alternating between feeling worse and feeling better over the course of a few months. This could spell trouble for the individual and may lead to all kinds of problems. (Related: Why your detox is making you sick: Must-read article reveals dangers of aggressive detoxing.)

According to Kwang, the main problem is in trying to manage the condition instead of focusing on the core of the issue.
“Toxins come in combinations of heavy metals,” Kwang says. This is the core problem, and it is because of this that the toxins have to be detoxified as a combination.
There are many kinds of foods that can aid the detox process. Depending on your body type and specific dietary needs, some diet foods may be more effective than others. Rather than a juice cleanse, you can try home-cooked meals packed with fruits and vegetables, and rich in lean proteins, unrefined whole grains and healthy fats.
