Facebook CENSORS Medical Marijuana pages in America

To the Leftist, there shall be no competition of political or societal ideas. There will be no debate, no discussion, no deviation from the progressive narrative. Authoritarianism is bad – unless, of course, the Leftist is the authoritarian.

If you understand these principles describing the behavior and mindset of today’s modern Western “liberals,” you can understand why they do the things they do, like banning or advocating the banning of anything – speech, ideals, politics, policy – they don’t agree with.

Take Facebook – again.

Censor-nannies shutter Facebook pages

As reported by The Associated Press, three of five medical marijuana dispensaries in New Jersey have had their business pages shuttered by Facebook censor-nannies, which has eliminated a source for what advocates have deemed an integral place for customers to learn about the best plant strains for their particular illnesses and, importantly, where to find them, as well as discounted products.

As further reported by The AP:

Compassionate Sciences in Bellmawr, Garden State in Woodbridge, and Breakwater Treatment and Wellness in Cranbury had their pages shut down this week.

Facebook’s advertising policy bans promotion of selling drugs — as well as tobacco and guns — and the medical marijuana pages weren’t spared even though they have been legally allowed to operate in New Jersey since 2011.

“These pages have been removed for violating our Community Standards, which outline what is and is not allowed on Facebook,” a spokeperson for the social network told Dailymail.com.

The company’s guidelines say, “ We prohibit any attempts by unauthorized dealers to purchase, sell, or trade prescription drugs, marijuana, or firearms. If you post an offer to purchase or sell alcohol, tobacco, or adult products, we expect you to comply with all applicable laws and carefully consider the audience for that content.”

As AP and the Daily Mail noted further, the shuttering of the medical marijuana pages reflect similar actions taken by the social media company in other parts of the nation. For example at one point in 2015, Facebook censor-nannies took down the page for the Harborside Health Center, a medical pot dispensary in Oakland, California, though that page is back up and running now.

“It’s doing a real disservice to the patients of New Jersey,” Peter Rosenfeld, a board member of the Coalition for Medical Marijuana — New Jersey, told AP. “They’re treating it like they’re selling marijuana illegally when it’s a fully sanctioned nonprofit that’s controlled and regulated by the state of New Jersey.”

Reports noted that an excess of 5,500 patients in New Jersey have registered to receive medical marijuana; more than 300 doctors now prescribe it.

‘Now I have no idea’

Roselle Park native Amy Marie Keller, 40, said she checked the Garden State dispensary’s Facebook page every day, as someone who suffers from variegate porphyria, a disorder that limits her blood oxygen content and can cause painful intestinal problems and even seizures.

The New Jersey native said that the best brands that work for her – Blackwater, Sour Diesel and Nigerian Haze – often are in short supply, so knowing when they are available is very important to her.

“Now I have no idea,” she told the Daily Mail. “I tried calling but they didn’t pick up. Probably everybody is calling. I would hate to tie up their phone lines and bother them every morning about that.”

The general manager for Compassionate Sciences dispensary, Mike Nelson, said that Facebook has been the marijuana seller’s foremost tool to communicate with the public. The dispensary announced on Facebook rather than on its own business website that it has a new or cheaper brand of pot that is high in various properties that can help treat symptoms of multiple sclerosis and epilepsy.

Facebook has also been utilized as an online forum for quality control regarding various brands of marijuana, some that have names like Golden Goat and Charlotte’s Web.

“There’s nothing out there that says the Golden Goat in California is the same one as the Golden Goat in New Jersey,” Nelson said. “It makes it more localized, which is important because there are no control factors.”

As NaturalNews has reported, Facebook has, in the past, censored alternative media sources and pictures of kids who were rallying with their parents against GMOs and Monsanto.
