Hastings District, in the northeast of New Zealand, is to become their country’s first GMO-free zone for raising of livestock and crops! This outstanding news was announced in the publication of the Hastings District Plan, where council members laid out the plan to turn this region into a premium product-producing region, on par with the likes of Tuscany, Italy, and Champagne, France.
Twenty-one regions in France and 16 in Italy are already officially GMO-free, along with South Australia and Tasmania, as GMO agriculture continues to be proven as a failed experiment.
This is on the heels of both France and Russia announcing that they will be banning Monsanto’s genetically engineered crops in their countries, further cementing a growing global position of keeping the food and farming systems natural.
