The dangers of poor oral health and why conventional products and dentists often make it worse

There are estimations that eighty percent of disease begins in the mouth. This is not too hard to believe considering it is the most open orifice for various pollutants, most notably the highly processed and toxic food we ingest on a regular basis. This food not only can introduce dangerous pathogens into our oral cavity but it can also ruin various areas of our digestive system, eventually resulting in poor assimilation, nutrient deficiencies, acidity, and poor bone and tooth health.

Of course, conventional wisdom suggests chemically laced toothpastes, mercury amalgams, and other dental procedures to repair this damage, when in reality, they leave your oral and general health in an even more precarious situation that leads to much more serious disease. It can all happen so quickly, but with some effort, you can avoid this dangerous path and even alleviate damage that is already done.

Know the main oral assault weapons

There is a long list of conventional products and services for your oral health that are really dangerous to your long term health. However, if you are aware of the short list of the most toxic ones, you can mitigate the majority of the damage done to your oral cavity. The most health-compromising oral health products and services include:

  • Dental amalgams (mercury and metal alloy mixture used to fill cavities)
  • Root canals
  • Fluoride teeth cleaning
  • Fluoride filled toothpaste
  • Conventional mouthwash
  • Improperly prepared or highly processed/toxic food

Perhaps the worst of all, dental amalgams are about fifty percent mercury and twenty five percent silver, and even though mercury has been recognized as a poison since the 1500s, they have been used by dentistry since the 1820s. As stated by Richard D. Fischer, D.D.S., “I don’t feel comfortable using a substance (mercury amalgams) designated by the EPA to be a waste disposal hazard. I can’t throw it in the trash, bury it in the ground, or put it in a landfill, but they say it’s okay to put it in people’s mouths. That doesn’t make sense.”

100% organic essential oil sets now available for your home and personal care, including Rosemary, Oregano, Eucalyptus, Tea Tree, Clary Sage and more, all 100% organic and laboratory tested for safety. A multitude of uses, from stress reduction to topical first aid. See the complete listing here, and help support this news site.

You may think that the main damage is done when they are put in, and that may be true, but there are other processes most don’t consider that go on unabated as long as the fillings remain in the teeth. One is that these fillings can release mercury, tin, copper, and silver into the body and corrode into metallic ions that can migrate from the tooth to the root, the mouth, the bone, the connective tissues of the jaw, and finally into the central nervous system. These ions can permanently reside there disrupting proper body functioning if they are not removed.

Also, there is another process called electrogalvanism. As explained by Healing the Body, “…due to its mineral content, saliva in the mouth is electrically conductive. When saliva interacts with a dental restoration containing metal, a battery is created causing an effect known as electrogalvanism. This is quite simply electricity generated by a person’s fillings. The saliva acts as a conductant and the dissimilar metal fillings try to neutralize each other to balance out the electrical charge. This causes toxic materials from the filling to erode and leak into the body.”

Then there is the root canal, which has caused many people unknown grief. The issue is summed up well by Healing the Body:

“Teeth are similar to other organ systems in the body in that they require a blood supply, lymphatic and venous drainage, and nervous innervations. Root canals, however, are dead teeth, and they can become one of the worst sources of chronic bacterial toxicity in your body.

Keep in mind that if any other organ in your body dies, it will need to be removed so bacteria and necrosis will not set in and kill you, but unfortunately, dead teeth are commonly left inside the body. Teeth have roots with main canals and side canals, and in those side canals are nerves. When a root canal is performed, the nerves from the main canals are removed, but there is no access to the side canals, which have dead nerves left behind in those spaces.

Anaerobic bacteria that do not require oxygen to survive live in these side canals and release toxins that cause chronic infection. The blood supply and lymphatics that surround these teeth drain this toxicity and allow it to spread through the entire body.

The longer these teeth stay in your body, the more your immune system becomes compromised. And don’t think antibiotics will work – these bacteria are protected inside the dead tooth.”

Of course, the dangers of fluoride have also been well-stated over the years, and you can read all about the truth on fluoride and the effects it has on the body at Fluoride.news. Just remember it’s a mainstay in conventional toothpastes, many public water supplies, and dental cleanings.

Finally, another popular oral health product is mouthwash. It can be appreciated that a fresh, clean oral cavity is not only pleasant to the owner but also to those that interact with them, but the toxic ingredients in most mouthwash products make this a very risky habit. Some well-documented and noxious ingredients in conventional mouthwash include:

  • Alcohol
  • Artificial dyes
  • Benzalkonium chloride
  • Cetylpyridinium chloride
  • Chlorhexidine
  • Hexetidine
  • Methyl salicylate
  • Methylparaben
  • Tricoslan

These ingredients are as hard on your oral and overall health, as some of them are to pronounce. If you want to learn more of the dirty details on these ingredients, check out this article.
